Shooting at the Half Marathon of Italy – Memorial Enzo Ferrari

21 kilometers of running, emotions and… clicks!

On March 30, 2025, Modena woke up to the rhythm of the race: the Mezza Maratona d'Italia – Memorial Enzo Ferrari brought hundreds of athletes to challenge each other along a 21.097 kilometer route, from the heart of Maranello to the historic Piazza Grande. An event that is not only sporting, but also deeply visual, and I was lucky enough to be there too… camera around my neck!

From Maranello to Modena: a road made of steps and stories

The start was given in front of the Ferrari Museum in Maranello, with the determination of the runners warming the early morning air. After crossing the Fiorano circuit and speeding through the streets of Formigine, the athletes took Via Giardini towards the center.

The arrival?

Evocative and symbolic: Piazza Grande , between applause, shortness of breath and fatigue-proof smiles.

My point of view: between departures and stolen shots

As a photographer, I love to tell what happens when no one is looking: the tense looks before the start, the hands that greet the onlookers, the deep breaths before the departure.

All under a perfect sky for running… and for taking photographs.

Emotion, effort and frames

There is something special about every race: the determination on the faces, the push towards the finish line, the small gestures of encouragement between competitors.

Each shot tells that micro-story that is part of a larger story.

A special thanks to Caffè Cagliari for involving me in this beautiful event.
